Last September, the Volkswagen Group awarded A Raymond with the title: "Top 10 best suppliers in the world for original parts" .
Despite the economic crisis, the Volkswagen Group is working towards its goal of becoming the world's largest car maker by 2018. A great deal of importance is attached to after sales and hence to the VO department, which delivers original parts all over the world, as the capacities of our suppliers have to match our own growth.
To further underpin the level of cooperation with its suppliers, VO held its annual supplier days this year on September 8th and 9th. More than 4,000 suppliers from over 40 countries currently supply VO with more than 400,000 different items. 200 suppliers attended the event in the town of Baunatal. The focal point was the presentation of awards to the best suppliers of 2009.
A total of 10 suppliers were awarded the title "Supplier of the Year". The much sought-after award was presented to the following companies by Michael Müller and Dieter Gombert, Demand Capacity Management Wolfsburg, Hubertus Förster, OP Supply Chain Management, and Steffen Schwarz, OP Procurement Logistics Management:
AKT Altmärker Kunststoff-Technik (Gardelegen), A Raymond (Freiburg), Borbet Thüringen (Bad Langensalza), Emcon Technologies (Augsburg), Fontana (Erkrath), Haertol Chemie (Magdeburg), HQM Rohrleitungssysteme (Cottbus), Mann + Hummel (Ludwigsburg), Spahn Glühlampenfabrik (Bad Salzdetfurth) and Witte Automotive (Velbert).
