First appearance at top trade fair for India’s automotive parts industry
ARaymond* has raised its market profile in India, currently the sixth-largest passenger car producer in the world, after exhibiting at a leading trade exhibition for component suppliers.
ARaymond was the only fastener company to appear at the Auto Ancillary Show in Pune, which is a major hub of India’s booming automotive industry.
“We are already working with most of the major OEMs in India and this was a good platform to increase our visibilitystill further,”said Chinmay Oak, Assistant Manager – Marketing, ARaymond India.
“Visitors to our stand were able to see the entire ARaymond™ product range. On display were samples of our plastic and metal fasteners and fluid connection solutions (quick connector). They were also able to learn about our latest technologies and innovations, such as our bonding solutions and RayTOOL®**, by watching video clips.
“We already supply several OEMs with plastic fasteners but car makers with plants here want more of their parts to be manufactured in India, and so everybody who came to our stand was particularly interested to hear about our plans to begin production of metal fasteners in 2015.”
After meeting ARaymond representatives at the show, a delegation from the strategic resourcing team of a major Japanese car manufacturer accepted an invitation to visit the ARaymond plant in Pune to learn more about its facilities and production capacity. ARaymond has been present in India since 2007.
“This was the first time we have appeared at the Auto Ancillary Show and we made many useful contacts with OEMs,” added Mr Oak. “We have also increased our profile with important bodies such as the Automotive Components Manufacturers Association of India and the India Trade Promotion Organization.
“We will be appearing at more trade shows and exhibitions in the future, which will give our current and potential customers more opportunities to find out how they can benefit from our growing portfolio of fastening and assembly solutions.”
As vehicle production increases in India, the nation’s component sector is expected to be worth USD $115 billion by 2020, contributing 3.6% to India’s GDP, up from the current level of 2.2%.
