In Brazil, ARaymond* is set for strong growth over the next few years following its debut appearance as a sponsor at the Automotive Business Fair, one of the most important events in the Brazilian automotive industry.
The annual event comprises a workshop which gathers together the key players in Brazil’s automotive sector in order to discuss all the latest developments in the market, with a particular focus on purchasing trends and patterns. The most recent edition was held at the Golden Hall at the Sheraton WTC in São Paulo on April 28.
The event attracted around 1,000 visitors, and 31 sponsors. As one of the sponsors, ARaymond was able to showcase its products and expertise from its own exhibition stand, highlighting several products across its three main product areas– plastic, metal and quick connectors.
During the breaks between speeches at the workshop, around 200 attendees visited the ARaymond stand, of which around 25% were current ARaymondcustomers, and the other 75% new prospects. Each visitor to the stand received a catalogue and a small gift.
Joelen Lima, Marketing Analyst at ARaymondLtda, explained that the event proved to be a useful opportunity to present the Brazilian company to visitors who were not already aware of it. “This was the main purpose of sponsoring the event,” she said. “We were able to connect with people who didn’t previously know about us, and explain how we are investing in innovations and technologies, as well as outline our strong position as a supplier in Brazil. We were very happy with the types of people who visited our stand – they were mostly purchasers as well as company directors, so we gained a lot of useful contacts for future business.”
Pereira Carlos, commercial managerat ARaymondLtda, added: “The event was very useful for networking, and we gained contacts at a lot of the leading car makers in Brazil. The people who visited us thanked us for presenting our company to them.”
Joelen said that ARaymond sponsorship of the Automotive Business Fair is expected to help it capitalize on its already strong position in the Brazilian automotive market. She explained that the automotive sector slowed in the first half of the year, due largely to a slight fall in investments in the sector caused by a focus across the country on the FIFA World Cup, as well as the removal of some Government incentives designed to boost car sales. However, while this led to ARaymond suffering a slight downturn in sales, its results still compared favourably to those of most other parts suppliers in the country.
Carlos said that the Brazilian automotive market is expected to return to growth in the second half of the year. “Next year we are anticipating growth in the overall market of around 5%, and then growth of around 8% in 2016,” he said. “We are confident about the market going forward.”
Joelenexplained that ARaymond Ltda has invested heavily in its production over recent years, including new machines, with capacity doubling over the past year. “This means we will be able to handle the anticipated return to growth,” she said.
Joelen added that the Brazilian company has several key advantages, with an excellent location of the plant, close to many of the key players in Brazil’s automotive industry, including several of the biggest OEMs, and a number of Tier 1 and 2 customers. In addition, the plant is located near to one of the most important airports in São Paulo as well easily accessing the main highways.
Looking ahead, Joelen said that ARaymond in Brazil will continue to grow its investments in technology, and introduce new parts.
