Last November 3rd, Hocine Ibegazene and Florent Lagarde went to Detroit to participate to the ITB conference on “Front End Modules and Cooling Systems”.
The ITB is an international consulting group for the automotive industry that utilizes its extensive network to organize highly focused conferences on specific automotive systems and modules. For its 1st participation in the cooling systems conference, AR promoted its newly developed quick connectors with a presentation “Reducing cooling system complexity while improving ergonomics” and an exhibition booth. The number of applications for QCs in the cooling system has indeed dramatically increased over the past few years. This is mainly due to the poor accessibility in the engine compartment and the progressive replacement of rubber hoses by thermoplastic tubes. Typical applications are for degas lines, heater lines and flow distribution lines. The potential is of 6 to 8 QCs per vehicle. AR gained some significant market share in Europe at Renault (Clio II and III, Kangoo, Modus), PSA (307, C4, 807, C8 et Partner) FORD (Fiesta, Transit) and FIAT (Ideas, Punto). The next Renault Laguna as well as Peugeot’s 207 & 308 will also be equipped with Raymond QCs. This ITB show was very successful and allowed AR to highlight its expertise as well as increasing its customer network (Behr, Valeo, Visteon, Delphi, Mark IV, Ford, Daimler-Chrysler) and strengthening its worldwide leading position of Quick connectors manufacturer.
